A stone grey Tencel & linen sleeveless shift dress, with an architectural curved cut-out back. Features a red woven panel detail, cut from artisan-made organic cotton fabric.
Cochineal's woven panel fabric is organic cotton grown, spun, naturally dyed, and woven by artisan weavers in the Sierra Sur de Oaxaca, Mexico, in the tradition of Zapotec textile art.
The dress represents the beautiful contrast of modern Mexican architecture coexisting alongside indigenous arts and traditions.
Made in London.
The Cochineal Dress is made from an 80% Lenzing Tencel and 20% linen blend, with the woven panel being 100% organic cotton.
Sustainable manmade cellulose fibres, like Lyocell, produce around half the emissions of conventional fibres of this type due to closed-loop production methods.
Cochineal's woven panel fabric was created at Khadi Oaxaca, a traditional artisan weaving collective in Mexico. The cotton used is native to the Costa Chica of Oaxaca and Guerrero. It is grown without agrochemicals while preserving the bio-heritage of native cotton and corn.
Each dress is manufactured at a North London-based small-batch production studio. It takes five hours to cut and make just one dress.
Model is 5'7, wearing a size small.
As the dress' fabric is non-stretch, we advise going up a size if in-between sizes.
Our measurements are taken in cm from the products laid flat, from seam to seam.
