The best way to use your saffron is with a pestle and mortar; if you add the required amount into the pestle and mortar and then grind it until it turns into powder (only around 10 to 20 seconds of grinding required).
Then pour a small amount of boiling water into the pestle and mortar and leave it for a few minutes until all the colour and flavour has diffused into the water, and then pour the water into your food, or tea, or whatever you are using it for.
