Jonathan Stroud The Bartimaeus Series 4 Book Set

The Bartimaeus Series is a four-book collection set by British writer Jonathan Stroud, written for children aged 10–14. The series combines alternate history, fantasy and magic, and is presented as a trilogy with one prequel.

At its centre is Bartimaeus, a boisterous djinni said to be five thousand years old. The story follows the career of a teenage magician, Nathaniel, and Bartimaeus, whom he has summoned and nominally controls, set against an alternative history in which London is at the height of its domination as a magical oligarchy.
