Synopses

David Bowie

As a child, David lived with his family in a small house on an ordinary street, with a head full of songs and ideas. At school he loved music and dance, and his brother’s rock and jazz records inspired him to take up the saxophone and begin writing his own songs.

David Attenborough

Growing up in Leicester on a university campus where his father was a professor, David spent hours in the science library. He collated his own specimens and created a mini animal museum.

Martin Luther King Jr

Martin grew up in a family of preachers, with his father, uncle and grandfather all following the same calling. The story introduces a moment from his childhood when a friend invited him to play at his house.

Mahatma Gandhi

As a young teenager in India, Gandhi lived rebelliously and went against his parents’ values. As a young man, he began forming beliefs of his own, returning to Hindu principles from his childhood.

Stephen Hawking

As a boy, Stephen Hawking would look up at the stars and wonder about the universe. Although he was never top of the class, his curiosity led him to study at Oxford and Cambridge.
