How does the Block Magic work?

Smartseal Block Magic Sealer adds colour to your block paving as well as providing a protective layer that will protect against all types of dirt, grime and staining.

Always apply a second coat of sealer; either another coat of Block Magic or our Block Paving Sealer in Matt or Silk finish.

Smartseal "Block Magic" is a blend of liquid pigments and acrylic resins that soaks deeply into paving, totally transforming and protecting block paving driveways and patios. 'Block Magic' replaces the colour that sun, rain, vehicles and pressure washing has taken away.

PLEASE NOTE: old or poorly conditioned pavers may require two coats of Block Magic to achieve a uniform finish.

***NOT TO BE USED ON CLAY PAVERS OR IN COMBINATION WITH THE POLYURETHANE

There are 2 methods which can be carried out on Block Paving. The first method is to keep the sand the original colour and the second to change the colour of the sand (whilst protecting the area). Application Guidelines To KEEP Sand Original Colour: PLEASE ENSURE STEP 1 IS COMBINED WITH A CLEANER SUCH AS THE SMARTSEAL XTREME CLEANER. BLACK SPOT CAN BE AN ISSUE WITH THE SEALER ADHERING AND MAY CAUSE FLAKING ISSUES IF THE AREA HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED THOROUGHLY. 1. Ensure paving is pressure washed/cleaned with a strong cleaner to remove all surface debris and 'muck' from joints. 2. Leave paving to dry for 5 clear & dry days. 3. Apply one coat of Block Magic with Roller. If you're changing the colour you may need to apply two coats (coverage in description) 4. Leave Block Magic to dry for around 2 hours. 5. Re-sand surface area, with 'kiln-dried sand'. 6. Lastly, apply a coat of the Smartseal Block Paving Sealer MATT or SILK, this will adhere to the colour and solidify the sand. Application Guidelines

To CHANGE Sand Colour: 1. Ensure paving is pressure washed/cleaned with a strong cleaner to remove all surface debris and 'muck' from joints. 2. Leave paving to dry for 5 clear & dry days. 3. Re-sand surface area, with ''kiln-dried sand''. 4. Apply two coats of Block Magic with a Roller, leaving 2 hours between each coat. 5. Ensure no rainfall is due for at least 8 hours after application. After correctly applying the sealer, expect to have between 3-5 years protection*. Sealer longevity will vary dependent on a number of factors such as: traffic (foot/vehicle), weather and general maintenance.

Legal information: PLEASE NOTE: All products must be applied in conjunction with the Application Guidelines, stated above. Wear respirator, gloves & goggles when applying. Store in a cool & dry place. CANNOT be used on Clay Pavers. If your Block Paving has been previously sealed or treated, please try a sample first to ensure compatibility. Please note that due to the size and weight of the 25 Litre container, it's sometimes inevitable that the item may arrive with small scratches or dents present. The drums are designed to absorb these and as long as it hasn't been punctured, the product within is still totally fit-for-purpose.

1. Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all surface debris and 'muck' from joints. In addition to pressure washing, we would advise using the Smartseal Xtreme Cleaner.

2. Leave paving to dry for 3-4 clear & dry days.

3. Apply one coat of Block Magic with Roller. If you're changing the colour you may need to apply two coats (coverage in description).

4. Leave Block Magic to fully cure, 1-2 clear and dry days.

Re-sand surface area, with "kiln-dried sand".

5. If you've only applied one coat then apply a coat of Smartseal Block Paving Sealer, this will protect the colour and harden the sand.
