The Beasts of Knobbly Bottom 2 Book Set brings together two adventures featuring nine-year-old Maggie McKay as she adjusts to life in Knobbly Bottom, a village she considers the most boring place imaginable. With no soft play centres, no toy shops and no horse her mum had (sort of) promised, Maggie is unimpressed by fields, church fetes and what seem like ordinary sheep.

Before long, Maggie discovers that Knobbly Bottom is full of secrets. Across both stories, she teams up with her little sister Lily and their new friend Fred to investigate increasingly strange events in the village, from unsettling changes in the local animals to unexplained disappearances and damage.

Synopses

Attack of the Vampire Sheep

Maggie McKay is unhappy about moving to Knobbly Bottom, a village with none of the things she wants and plenty of sheep. She soon notices something is wrong: the sheep are growing fangs, their eyes are turning red, and they are planning to take over the world. When her mum dismisses it as another made-up tale, Maggie, Lily and Fred turn to Nan Helsing and some stinky garlic bread to help save the village.

Rise of the Zombie Pigs

Something in Knobbly Bottom is eating everything in sight, and when a chocolate cake disappears Maggie is blamed. As vegetable plots are devoured overnight and huge bite marks appear in garden furniture, she begins investigating with Fred. When the local pigs start turning green and doubling in size, they must work out how to fend off the rise of the zombie pigs.
