Each basket is made from corrosion-resistant galvanised iron with a silver finish. The construction uses 3.5 mm wire with a 5 x 10 cm mesh, while strengthened gabion hooks draw opposing wire panels tightly together to support stability and help the structure hold its intended shape. Once assembled, the baskets are designed to be filled with rocks or gravel, and can also be filled with natural materials including concrete, sandstone and coloured stone.
