Treatment & maintenance

Corten steel is supplied in its normal metal colour and is not rusted yet on arrival. Over time, it will develop its characteristic protective rust layer. To accelerate this process, it can be sprayed with soap water and salt water. Avoid contact with the developing rust layer to help prevent staining on clothing.
