Bigjigs Rail Heritage Collection Black 5 Engine is a wooden toy train engine modelled on the LMS Railway Black Five, introduced in 1934 and designed by Sir William Stanier. The class entered service in July 1944 and a further 842 locomotives were built up to 1951 for a range of duties across the railway networks.
This replica engine carries detailed styling, including steam pipes, domes, handrails, smoke box door detailing and a 4-6-0 wheel arrangement. Magnetic couplings connect it with other engines and carriages in the Bigjigs Rail range, and it is also compatible with most other major wooden railway brands. Made from high quality, responsibly sourced materials and conforms to current European safety standards.
