British Road Services’ BRS Truck Rental fleet is captured in this Corgi VW T2 Panel Van, modelled on one of six Volkswagen Type 2 vans purchased by BRS in early 1975. Chosen for its quieter rear-engined petrol layout and more car-like driving position, the T2 offered a distinctive alternative within a rental fleet largely made up of UK-built diesel vans.

Production of the second-generation Type 2 began in August 1967 at Hanover, Germany, with a new structure and styling that was slightly larger and more powerful than the original, while retaining Volkswagen’s traditional rear-mounted, air-cooled engine and unitary construction body.
