Ellis Rugby Addison 1871 Rugby Polo commemorates Addison F. C., established in 1869 and a founding member of the Rugby Football Union in 1871. Named after politician and writer Joseph Addison, the club was based in Kensington, west of Holland Park, and fielded two teams in its early years.
