Ellis Rugby’s Hornets 1871 Rugby T-Shirt draws on the history of Hornets RFC, a founding member of the Rugby Football Union in 1871. The club was founded in 1868 with over 90 members fielding three teams, and played at Wimbledon Common, 20 minutes’ walk from Wimbledon Station. Hornets played their first game against Richmond in November 1865, and two early players, Harry and John Graham, were selected for England.
