Ellis Rugby’s Ravenscourt 1871 rugby T-shirt draws on the club’s place as a founding member of the Rugby Football Union in 1871. The story begins with Ravenscourt Park, founded in 1865 and made up almost entirely of Old Rugbeians, at a time when few schools played football in the style of Rugby School. Ravenscourt Park RFC was among 21 clubs that met in London at the Pall Mall Restaurant on Regent Street on 26 January 1871 to formalise the game of Rugby Football.
