Genus Japanese Secateurs

From Sokan, these Japanese secateurs reflect a long-established approach to garden tools, shaped by a brand with roots going back 200 years. First produced by the company in 1870, they are designed for gardeners who value a precise, well-balanced tool for regular pruning and cutting.

Hot forged from high carbon steel and ground by hand, the secateurs are made from only two pieces of metal, with each blade and handle formed as one piece. The two sides are bolted together using a tapered bolt that thickens towards the head, a construction detail that gives these secateurs their distinctive cut. Thoughtfully made and practical in use, they also make a considered gift for a keen gardener.
