UV400 photochromic lenses adapt to changing brightness, darkening as sunlight strengthens. A colour mirror coating helps reduce reflections, while a hardened lens surface improves scratch resistance. With filter category 4, the lenses transmit 3%–8% of visible light for maximum protection in very strong sunlight; they are not suitable for driving.
