Green Day 'Kerplunk' CD

Green Day Kerplunk CD is the band’s second studio album, originally released on 17th December 1991 by Lookout! Records. It followed a US tour promoting 39/Smooth (1990) and marked a line-up change, with drummer John Kiffmeyer leaving to attend college and Tré Cool joining, formerly of the Lookouts.

The album received a positive response from critics, with comments noting Cool’s addition to the sound, the songwriting, and the range of styles across the record. It sold 10,000 copies on its first day of release and became one of the biggest-selling releases on Lookout Records. After the success of Dookie (1994), Kerplunk topped the US Billboard Top Pop Catalog Albums chart. As of January 2017, it had sold four million copies worldwide and was certified platinum in the US and gold in the UK.
