Built to represent a specialist Great Western Railway vehicle, the Hornby Loriot Y Machinery Truck captures the distinctive role of the Loriot Y well wagon in railway service. The prototype was intended for transporting machinery that was too large for the GWR loading gauge, with only two wagons built. In GWR use, they were regularly employed to move bulldozers, giving this model a clear place in layouts that focus on engineering and heavy equipment movements.
