Hornby Mk3 TRFB LNER 40711

Built for higher-speed running on Britain’s railways, the Mk3 introduced major advances in passenger coach design, from secondary air suspension between the bogies and body to aerodynamic underframe skirting. At 75ft (23m) long, it also brought increased capacity, while disc brakes and wheel slip protection supported faster deceleration. First delivered for the HST prototype in 1972, the Mk3 later became a key part of the InterCity 125 trainset from 1975.
