Mercyful Fate The Beginning is an LP on black vinyl. Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, the band’s lyrics deal with Satan and the occult.

The Beginning is a compilation album released in 1987. It consists of the Nuns Have No Fun EP tracks and different versions of four tracks from the album Melissa, including BBC Radio 1 Session recordings.
