The upper combines nylon ripstop and TPU for a durable, technical finish, while a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane provides breathable protection in wet and changeable conditions.

Underfoot, FloatPro Foam in the midsole works with a removable EVA foam footbed for cushioned support on the trail. FlexPlate technology adds torsional rigidity, lateral stability and forefoot flexibility, helping the shoe adapt to uneven ground. A bellows tongue helps keep out debris, while the padded collar, protective synthetic heel and toe cap, and secure heel counter add structure for confident outdoor use. The Vibram TC5+ outsole is exclusive to Merrell and paired with traction lugs that improve grip and help shed debris across varied terrain.
