Founded in London in 2003 by graphic-design duo Melvyn de Villiers and Nick Cordell, later joined by Japanese designer Takashi “Maru” Marujo, Money Clothing burst onto the scene with just eight graphic tees and a vision: make streetwear its founders would be proud to wear themselves. The now-iconic King Ape emblem—an “M” crowned and turned simian—quickly became a calling card for attitude and authenticity, propelling the label from local trade-show curiosity to a global name in men’s fashion.
Money’s signature is fearless detail. Guided by its mantra “Continue to Create,” the studio keeps the line moving with seasonal drops of tees, tracksuits, outerwear and accessories inspired by streetstyle and music culture.
Two decades on, Money remains restless. The 2024 “OG Collection” celebrated 20 years in the game—re-issuing early-2000s velour, Sig-Star jackets and those famed currency-pocket jeans—while marking the brand’s official launch in the United States. The message is clear: stay playful, stay innovative and keep pushing the culture forward.
