Synopsis

Mrs Frisby is a widowed mouse with four young children and must move her family before a farmer destroys their home. With her youngest son, Timothy, ill with pneumonia and unable to travel, time becomes critical.

Assistance arrives from an unusual group: the rats of NIMH, described as a secretive and highly intelligent breed. They devise a solution to Mrs Frisby’s problem, and she provides them with an important service in return, while gradually learning more about their extraordinary past and the danger they face.
