The Myga Wooden Mallah Beads, also known as Japa Mala or Mala, can be worn as a stacked bracelet, or a long necklace or can be used as an aid to prayer and meditation. It is a symbol of the beauty and sacredness of your meditation practice.
They have 108 individual beads, a symbolic number in Buddhism, Hinduism, and yogic traditions.
These are counted one by one, beginning and ending with the Guru bead, whilst chanting a mantra (usually “Om mani padme hum”) and counting breaths taken during meditation. By doing this it is believed that we are connecting us with inner peace.
Features
Size: 35cm, 108pcs Chinese cherry & 3pcs red acrylic bead
Storage, Cleaning and Care
Avoid exposing your mala beads to sun and water. Don’t wear your mala beads while practising yoga as they could get caught in hair, or clothing or be distracting to your practice. Do use mala beads in meditation.
Occasionally, but not too often, your mala beads need to be cleaned. Place them in a bowl of water (room temperature) and soak for up to 5 minutes. Use a soft cloth to wipe the beads, rinse off and dry them. Wood beads need at least 24 hours to be completely dry.
Store your mala on your altar or in any sacred place, best surrounded by crystals and any other sacred objects.
