Gotland sheepskin is probably the most exclusive sheepskin in the world. The Gotland sheep is originally from the Swedish island of Gotland, but has spread over the Swedish mainland and has made its way to Denmark, where we are located. Gotland sheepskin is easily recognisable through the natural grey curls. These can range from light grey colours that are mixed with white to dark, almost anthracite tones. Most Gotland sheepskin rugs, however, have a grey colour similar to the sample on the picture.

Gotland sheepskin is not only especially beautiful and rare, but also very durable. The leather side is strong, but very flexible, and the curls keep their form over many years. And if you notice come curls losing their form, just use this simple trick: Use a little bit of water on your hands and reach into the curls and curls your hands into fists. With the small amount of water and the movement of your hands, the curls are slowly restored.

Any other maintenance of the sheepskin is not really necessary, as the sheepskin keeps itself clean. Simply shake the sheepskin regularly to remove dust and to keep the curls in shape.
