From Paper High, this stitched distressed leather journal is crafted by hand using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods, then bound by hand to stand up to life on the move. The leather cover is made using a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned with natural dyes, before being protected with natural oils to help it soften and age over time.

Inside, unlined pages of handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi) offer a lightly textured, luxuriously thick surface that feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. Made from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from waste in the Indian garment industry, the paper is acid-free. It is suitable for ball-point pens, gel pens and watercolours; use with fountain pens is not recommended. As each journal is handmade, every piece is unique, with creases, bumps and marks that develop with age. If you prefer a less distressed finish, a more suitable version can be requested, including when personalising.
