From Planeta’s Buonivini estate in Noto, Controdanza DOC Noto 2020 is a Sicilian red wine made from Nero d’Avola with the addition of Merlot grown on the same lime soil. It reflects the character of Nero d’Avola di Noto, shaped by slightly less lime-rich soils and a style that balances fruit, spice and structure.

Aromas of jasmine and prune are joined by balsamic notes, bay, incense, Mediterranean macchia and goudron. On the palate, spicy and acidic notes remain clearly present, softened by the alcohol and balanced by tannins, while the influence of wood stays in the background behind the fruit.
