Race Glaze Refillable 0ppm Water Filter (7 litre)

The Race Glaze Refillable 0ppm Water Filter is a 7 litre in-line filtration unit for car washing, supplied pre-filled with MB115 resin and fitted with 3/4′ threads for male adapters for Hozelock hosepipe fixings. Mains water passes through the resin bed to reduce dissolved solids to as close to 0ppm as possible, helping to prevent water spots after rinsing. It can be used for a full wash or for a final rinse, with the latter stated as the most economical approach.

The unit uses a European-made fibreglass tank with a PE inner shell and comes pressure tested to 11 bar. It weighs 5kg, stands 50cm high and is refillable with new filtration resin granules. The source states up to 700+ litres of pure filtered water depending on local water hardness, with figures based on 300ppm dissolved solids in Hertfordshire giving 415 litres of water.

How to use

• Connect the unit to your hosepipe
• Use for a full wash or just the final rinse to reduce usage
• For the final rinse, use at half mains pressure, sufficient to create a wave of water over the vehicle
• The final rinse should be completed in around 45 seconds for a standard family car and little over a minute for a 4x4

Care

• No need to empty the vessel of water between washes
• Run 2-3 litres of water through the unit every 2 weeks in summer
• Store in cool conditions out of direct sun

Safety information

• Use of a brand new hose on the outlet side is recommended, as existing hose may contain limescale deposits inside
• Pressure washer use is not recommended, as its pump and pipework may be contaminated

The product is warranted free of manufacturing defects for 12 months, but the resin media is a consumable and is not covered.
