The Song of Achilles

The Song of Achilles is set in Greece in the age of heroes. It is presented as a story centred on Patroclus and Achilles.

Synopsis

Patroclus, described as an awkward young prince, is exiled to the court of King Peleus and his son, Achilles. Although they are different, Achilles befriends him, and the pair grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine.

As their relationship deepens, it develops beyond friendship, despite the displeasure of Achilles’s mother, Thetis, a sea goddess described as cruel.
