Each mug features black and white illustrations of the Queen of Hearts and the King of Hearts, inspired by an Alice in Wonderland card game based on artwork by Sir John Tenniel (1820–1914).

Look closer and the details reward every sip: the Queen points angrily, with her famous line ‘Off with their heads!’ printed on the inside rim, while the King’s mug features ‘Don’t be impertinent’ within. Both designs are finished with gold detailing, and each character’s name appears on the back in a swirling font.
