Vintage Tom A ruby and diamond cluster ring

A target style cluster ring containing a round pink red ruby centre stone, 5.4mm (0.50 carats) slightly cushion shaped. A lovely deep colour with no indication of heat treatment. Four claw setting.

Surrounded by a double outer border of single cut white diamonds each 1.5mm to an estimated total carat weight of 0.50 carats, colour H-j, clarity Si. The diameter is 14mm, depth 6.5mm, weight 5.7grams. Tests as platinum.

The shank is stamped 18CT, and tests as 18 carat gold. No hallmark as the period estimated at 1930-1940, no hallmark was required for this period.
