A fine diamond cluster ring from the late Victorian period. The diamonds are old mine cut. Centre stone 4mm (0.25 carats) surrounded by eight smaller diamonds each 2.6mm, and one each in each shoulder, total estimated weight of 0.70 carats. Colour G-h, clarity Si.
The head is white metal, testing as silver and very much the metal used in higher end jewellery in the Victorian period, 10x10mm. Depth 3.8mm, weight 3.4grams. The shank is stamped 18, and tests as 18 carat yellow gold. No hallmarks were legally required for the period.
This is a beautiful and impressive cluster ring that will look simply gorgeous on the wearer's finger. The diamonds are bright and lively and will not disappoint.
