From Weingut Leitz in the Rheingau, the 2021 Berg Schlossberg GG is a Grand Cru Riesling shaped by one of the region’s most exacting vineyard sites. Berg Schlossberg lies at the western end of the Rheingau, where the river turns sharply north, with a dramatically steep, south-facing slope, strong drainage and shelter from north winds by the Taunus Mountains.

The wine opens with refined, layered aromas of beeswax, honey, white peach, frankincense and honeysuckle. Despite that aromatic richness, the palate is dry and stony, with notable intensity already. It is drinking well now and has the structure to develop further with a few years in bottle.
