From the village of Cadaujac in Pessac-Léognan, Château Lamothe-Bouscaut 2020 is a Bordeaux red from the estate of Sophie Lurton and Laurent Cogombles. This 2020 vintage is made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on deep, gravelly soils, with vines averaging 35 years old.
The wine shows a dark purple colour and a composed, layered character. Complex aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry, white pepper and vine leaves are joined by hints of savoury soy sauce and oyster shell, while the palate has notable fruit concentration and a deep, succulent texture. It is drinking well now and has the structure to continue developing over the next decade or longer.
