Chris Hoy Flying Fergus: The Super Cycle is a six-book set following Fergus Hamilton, a boy with a big imagination who lives with his mum, grandad and his dog, Chimp. Fergus dreams of a state-of-the-art Sullivan Swift and of becoming the most brilliant boy cyclist in the world, but his ninth birthday brings a rusty second-hand bike instead. When he takes it out for a ride, he discovers something unexpected.
As Fergus trains and competes with his friends, cycling adventures unfold on and off the track. A secret linked to his bike can transport him to Nevermore, where cycling is banned and his dad is a prisoner. Alongside Princess Lily and Unlucky Luke, Fergus faces challenges that range from spooky locations and castle missions to high-stakes tournaments, rival teams and the pressure of championships.
Fergus Hamilton dreams of owning a state-of-the-art Sullivan Swift and becoming the most brilliant boy cyclist in the world. When he receives a rusty second-hand bike for his ninth birthday, he feels disappointed at first. Everything changes when he discovers something amazing on his first ride.
Fergus is excited to train for the Great Cycle Challenge with his friends, but he has a secret. If his bike’s pedals spin backwards, he is magically transported to Nevermore, where cycling is banned and his dad is a prisoner. Princess Lily wants to help, but first they must brave the abandoned Bicycle Graveyard.
The Hercules' Hopefuls reach the next round of a cycling tournament, but their training park is threatened by Bruce's Biscuits expanding their factory. Fergus and his friends look for a way to stop the plans. Fergus decides he must return to Nevermore and find the courage to enter King Woebegot's castle.
With the District Championships approaching, the Hercules' Hopefuls prepare to put their training to the test. Fergus is also worried by his mum’s odd behaviour and suspicious of an offer from rival coach Choppy Wallace. Determined to bring his dad back from Nevermore, Fergus turns to Princess Lily and Unlucky Luke for help.
The Hercules' Hopefuls head to the Nationals, but trouble hits during training. To have a chance against the Velociraptors, an all-girls speed squad, Wesley and Fergus need to work together. Fergus also faces the challenge of breaking his dad out of the Dungeon of Despair in Nevermore.
After winning the National Championships, Fergus and the Hercules' Hopefuls want to return to training as a team. Although lifting the trophy alongside Wallace's Winners was brilliant, both teams would rather compete than cooperate. The Board insists only the Nationals-winning team can enter the Internationals, so the two teams must work together as a single squad to qualify.
