Synopsis

Jack Courtney has lived in the UK all his life, but a summer trip takes him and his friends to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where Jack’s parents are attending a gorilla conference. When his parents disappear in the rainforest after being abducted by mercenaries, Jack is left searching for answers.

Suspecting a link to nearby tantalum mines, Jack sets out with Amelia and Xander to find proof and rescue his parents. Their journey through the jungle brings them face to face with western gorillas, forest elephants and hippos, as well as bandits, mercenaries and poachers. A member of Jack’s own family, Caleb Courtney, also stands in their way as the three friends fight to survive.
