From Puglia’s Salento IGP, Due Palme Doncosimo Salento Primitivo 2021 is an Italian red wine made from Primitivo grapes. This 13.5% ABV wine brings a poised, full-flavoured style, with a rich berry and spicy bouquet, a smooth texture and supple tannins.

Dry and medium-bodied, it shows ripe red fruit character with a velvety palate, light acidity and a harmonious, lingering finish. Vegetarian and vegan, it suits hearty dishes where its depth and structure can come into their own.

Tasting notes

Nose

Harmonious, with ripe red fruit and a slightly spicy character. Aromas include black plum, apricot, anise, raspberry, black cherry and blueberry.

Palate

Elegant and velvety, with light acidity, very pleasant tannins, a round mouthfeel, and hints of cooked fruit and cocoa.

Finish

Rich, long and lingering, with an intense, complex flavour.

Serving suggestion

Serve at 16–18°C with regional soups, meat sauce, grilled meats and hard cheeses.
