Ellis Rugby revisits a formative chapter in the sport with the West Kent Rugby Shirt 1871, created in tribute to West Kent Football Club and its role as a founding member of the Rugby Football Union in 1871. The story draws on the club’s early years at Chislehurst Common, its growth to nearly 100 members, and the later adoption of the Kentish Horse badge when it moved to playing rugby rules exclusively in 1874.
Made from satin touch 100% cotton, this rugby shirt is finished with a detailed embroidered West Kent crest, appliqué numbers on the front and back, herringbone vent detailing and tape at the neck opening. Ellis Rugby branding sits on the collar stand, with a crest on the arm. A ‘Story-Teller’ microchip is included on the garment label on the front, just above the hem, which can be scanned to launch a video on compatible smartphones.
