From Gutermann, Maraflex is an elastic stretch Sewing Thread designed to create flexible seams with a straight stitch. When sewn correctly, it offers up to 80% seam stretch, making it a practical choice for dressmaking projects where comfort and movement matter most.

Ideal for sewing around necklines, tight seams, and sleeve and leg cuffs, this thread is recommended for light to mediumweight knitwear such as jersey, as well as light to medium weight elastic woven fabrics and fabrics containing elastane. For best results, sew with as little thread tension as possible and use Maraflex as both needle and bobbin thread. Optimal seam elasticity is achieved with 4 stitch/cm. Produced using MCT (micro core technology), it is a particularly high quality thread.

Care

Wash at 60 degrees. Bleach allowed. Tumble dry at medium temperature. Use a hot iron. Dry clean using any solvent except trichloroethylene.
