From Gutermann, Maraflex is an elastic stretch sewing thread designed for flexible seams using a straight stitch, delivering up to 80% seam stretch when sewn correctly. Ideal for dressmaking, it’s particularly well suited to sewing around necklines, tight seams, and sleeve and leg cuffs where added give is essential.

Produced using MCT (micro core technology), Maraflex is made to a high quality standard and is recommended for light to mediumweight knitwear such as jersey, as well as light to medium weight elastic woven fabrics and fabrics containing elastane. For best results, sew with as little thread tension as possible and use it as both needle and bobbin thread; optimal seam elasticity is achieved with 4 stitch/cm. Supplied in exact colour 130 on a 150 metres spool.

Care

Wash at 60 degrees. Bleach allowed. Tumble dry at medium temperature. Use a hot iron. Dry clean using any solvent except trichloroethylene.
