Hugo Boss launched Hugo Dark Blue in 1999 as an oriental spicy fragrance for men. Hugo Dark Blue opens up with orange, ginger, grapefruit, lemon and lime then moves into a blend of mahogany, cypress, sage, geranium and cardamom and then finishes off with patchouli, benzoin, vetiver, cedar and vanilla. Hugo Dark Blue was created by Alain Astori and Beatrice Piquet.

Top notes: Lime, lemon, grapefruit, ginger and orange.

Heart notes: Cardamom, geranium, sage, cypress and mahogany.

Base notes: Vanilla, cedar, vetiver, benzoin and patchouli.
