Synopses

The Highway Rat

As the Highway Rat gallops along the road, other animals find themselves in trouble as their food is taken from them, from a rabbit’s clover to a squirrel’s nuts. Even his own horse is not spared. A cunning duck may be the one to finally stop him.

Superworm

Superworm is always ready to help, whether that means fishing Spider out of a well or rescuing Toad from a busy road. When he is captured by the Wizard Lizard, his insect friends must come up with a plan to save him.

Zog

Zog is the keenest dragon at school, but also the most accident-prone, with mishaps that leave him bruised and battered. A mysterious little girl repeatedly appears to patch him up. His biggest challenge arrives with a test that involves capturing a princess.

Tiddler

Tiddler is a small fish with a big imagination, spinning a new tall tale each day. His stories include riding a seahorse and meeting a mermaid. The question is who will believe him when something truly happens and he is caught in a net.

The Smeds and The Smoos

The red Smeds and the blue Smoos keep themselves apart. When a young Smed and a young Smoo fall in love, their families disapprove. Peace is eventually restored, and the story ends with a purple baby to celebrate.

The Scarecrows Wedding

Two scarecrows set out to gather everything they need for the perfect wedding. Their plans are threatened by Reginald Rake, who almost spoils the day. Harry O’Hay must become a hero before he and Betty O’Barley can have the wedding they want.
