King Diamond 'Fatal Portrait' LP 180g Black Vinyl

King Diamond ‘Fatal Portrait’ is a 180g black vinyl LP, originally released in 1986. It is the debut King Diamond album and is unusually not a concept album, although five songs link to form a short ghost story, a theme revisited on subsequent releases. The material is presented as more fantastical and conceptual than Mercyful Fate, while retaining dark themes throughout.

Following the split of Mercyful Fate after two releases, ‘Melissa’ and ‘Don’t Break the Oath’, King formed King Diamond with guitarist Michael Denner and bassist Timi Hansen. The line-up on ‘Fatal Portrait’ is completed by guitarist Andy La Roque and drummer Mikkey Dee.
