Synopses

Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer

Magnus introduces himself as an orphan surviving on the streets of Boston when he is warned that someone is after him. After reuniting with his uncle, he discovers his father is a Norse god and that Asgard is preparing for war. He must recover a sword his father lost two thousand years ago, with doomsday looming if he fails.

Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor

Thor’s hammer has vanished again, this time into enemy hands. Magnus and his friends must get it back quickly or the mortal worlds will be left defenceless as giants advance and Ragnarok begins. A possible solution involves Loki, and the bargain comes at a high cost.

Magnus Chase and the Ship of the Dead

Loki is free and readies Naglfar, the Ship of the Dead, to sail with giants and zombies against the Norse gods, triggering the final battle of Ragnarok. Magnus and his friends race across Midgard, Jotunheim and Niflheim to reach the ship before it sails on Midsummer’s Day, facing sea gods, giants and a fire-breathing dragon.

To succeed, Magnus must depend on words rather than force, seeking a magical elixir that could either help him out-talk Loki or destroy him.
