‘Corner Kick’ is a unique and high-quality full-size silk pocket square, Made in England. It has been created in collaboration with contemporary artist Julia Tanner, who through repeated experimentation has developed her own unique style of ‘playing with the paint’. Julia works with different media according to subject and mood but the colours are always bright.
Created in acrylic on canvas, Julia poured, dripped and splattered fluid paint in her original work to capture the movement and chaos as the ball is headed on towards goal. She was inspired by every football fan’s excitement at the winning goal.
In Macclesfield, the traditional home of English silk printing, the artwork is reproduced with great care. This enables an excellent balance of design colour & clarity between the printed and reverse sides of the fine Mulberry silk twill, ensuring the pocket square looks perfect whichever fold is used. The image is framed by the pocket square’s twin borders of blue and white and the skilfully hand-rolled & hand-sewn 'shoestring' hem in burgundy. The overall quality of this pocket square from the UK's leading maker is what you would normally expect to find only on London's Savile Row or Jermyn Street.
'Corner Kick' is presented in a complimentary Otway & Orford branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, this stylish football silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and her vibrant artwork.
Material Composition & Care
High-quality 100% Mulberry silk woven into 16oz silk twill gives the characteristic sheen and cool touch as well as ensuring the pocket square sits nicely in the top pocket.
Silk should always be dry cleaned. Avoid pressing the hand-finished hem to preserve its distinctive 'shoestring' shape.
