From Paper High, the Distressed Leather Journal is a handmade notebook designed for capturing ideas, notes and sketches, with plain, unlined pages that invite everything from everyday lists to longer-form writing. Crafted using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods, each journal is hand-bound and finished with a leather strap to keep it secure on the go.

The leather cover is made using a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned with natural dyes, then protected with natural oils to help it soften and age over time. Inside, the pages are made from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), a sustainable material handcrafted from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from the Indian garment industry; this ensures the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on, and is well suited to ball-point pens, gel pens, and watercolours (not recommended for fountain pens). As each piece is handmade, every journal is unique, with natural creases, bumps and marks that develop with age.
