For high-temperature sealing work, Permatex Red RTV Silicone Gasket Maker provides a formed-in-place alternative to many cut gaskets. Supplied in an 80 ml tube, it is OEM specified and suited to high-temperature applications and heavy-duty use, including towing.

This silicone gasket maker helps produce seals that resist cracking, shrinking and migration caused by thermal cycling. It can also be used to coat pre-cut gaskets to improve reliability, and it resists auto and shop fluids. Suggested automotive applications include valve covers, oil pans, timing covers, water pumps and thermostat housings.

• Temperature range: -54C to 343C intermittent

Care and maintenance

• Clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent before application.
• Clean uncured silicone from hands, tools and clothing with Fast Orange Hand Cleaner.
• Allow more curing time in cold or very dry conditions.

Safety information

Not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline.
