Petromax Cast Iron Hand Mortar

From Petromax, this cast iron Hand Mortar is designed for grinding spices, nuts and seeds with minimal effort when cooking over the fire. A small twisting motion is all it takes, with the weight of the mortar and pestle doing much of the work, while fluting in the base supports consistent results. Grind coarsely for textured spices such as black pepper, or continue until powdery when you want a finer finish.

The upper part is made for storing your own blends, helping keep ground spices aroma-safe until you are ready to cook. When it’s time to clean, simply rinse with water and allow it to dry thoroughly; if needed, traces can be removed using the Petromax Chain Mail Cleaner.
