Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime is a 2CD jewel case edition with bonus tracks. Originally released on May 3, 1988, this third album follows the story of Nikki, a recovering drug addict who becomes disillusioned with corrupt society and joins a revolutionary group tasked with assassinating political leaders.

Produced by Peter Collins, the album was recorded, mixed and mastered on a Sony 24-track digital tape machine. It went platinum in the U. S. in 1991 and was included in top 100 metal albums of all time lists by Kerrang! and Billboard magazines.
