JACKSON - Paving the way for black swimmers everywhere

Our JACKSON range is inspired by the trailblazing Pauline Jackson, a Black female swimmer who broke barriers in the sport during the 1920s and 1930s.

Renowned for her open-water prowess and cold-water swimming abilities, Jackson was one of the first marathon swimmers to attempt to cross the Catalina Channel in 1927 – a 32-kilometre stretch of frigid water that’s known as one of the seven toughest swims in the world.

She later competed in the Canadian National Exhibition swims in the late 1920s, and her determination and fund-raising efforts helped to launch her career in professional marathon swimming – opening the sport to countless Black swimmers who followed in her footsteps.
