KELLERMAN - Pushing for freedom for women in the water

Our KELLERMAN range is inspired by Annette Kellerman, a record-breaking swimmer who was one of the first women to attempt to the cross the English Channel.

Beyond her achievements in the water, Kellerman was a champion of women’s rights and freedoms. She was one of the first women to wear a one-piece bathing costume (as opposed to the conventional pantaloons), and her swimsuits became so popular that she started her own fashion line of one-piece bathing suits.

She also helped to popularise the sport of synchronised swimming – performing the first water ballet in a glass tank at the New York Hippodrome.
